One of our traditions is to demonstrate weaving to the public during the Annual Magic at the Mill Event at Willamette Heritage Center. Magic at the Mill is an annual event held by Willamette Heritage Center to celebrate the holiday season. It began in the late 90’s and has developed into the fun family event it is today. Salem Fiberarts Guild is a proud participant - both financially and by providing volunteer demonstrators. For current information on this year’s event, visit the Willamette Heritage Center website.

In preparation for this holiday event, the weavers decorate the studio, Textile Learning Center on 4th floor of the Mill Building, and dress their looms with festive holiday colors. Many of these handwoven items will be available at the Salem Fiberarts Guild Annual Sale in early November of next year.

We open the studio in the evenings and host other fiber demonstrators. An assortment of spinners, needlepointers, rug hookers, hand stitchers, and knitters will be in the studio to show you their art and answer questions.
